Google Apps for Education: School Board District

Step 2 of 3: Choose which scenario best meets your needs:

Quick Start Setup

The Quick Start Setup is ideal for a school board that simply wants Google AppsTM setup, and has an IT staff member that can handle the project management and post-deployment training and support.

Pilot Setup

By setting up a pilot implementation of Google Apps, you’re able to evaluate the technology against other solutions. A pilot is an effective, low-risk way to let your users experience the productivity-enhancing features of Google Apps without interfering with your existing infrastructure. A 10-25 user pilot is recommended as it offers the best chance of a successful deployment of Google Apps to your entire school board district.

Comprehensive Setup

Has your school board already had a successful pilot deployment of Google Apps? Sheepdog offers expertise in moving a large number of users to Google Apps. We use some of the best migration tools and best-practise techniques. We provide implementation services for Single Sign-on, user provisioning and management, email migration, and email routing controls for dual-delivery.

TIP: Each school should simply create three domains -- one for staff, one for the middle and high school students with email turned on, and one for the younger students with email turned off, but with log-in access to Docs and Sites (allowing collaborative work to take place in a closed environment). You do not need to have email turned on to use the collaboration tools provided with Google Apps.
